Springtime: What does it mean to you?

Lately I took a survey and asked random people, what comes to mind when you think of Springtime? Here are a few answers: fresh cut grass, melting snow, blooming flowers, green buds, new beginnings, the renewal of a cycle, chirping birds, longer days.

I think of new beginnings, fresh starts, new life and renewed hope. I smile as I recall childhood memories of awakening to Easter baskets overflowing with chocolate bunnies, speckled colored malted milk balls in the shape of an egg, bubbles and a stuffed animal.

In ways it feels like Christmas - the delight and amazement when I notice the sprouts of daffodils surfacing through the ground. They survived another winter! That delight is new every spring and never grows old - the resurrection of that which lies dormant for months on end.

What do you feel as you experience Spring? Refreshed? Renewed? Calm?

I feel excited, energized and ready - ready to witness the beauty and miracle of rebirth of our earth. Ready to start over. Ready to inhale fresh air and be outside in nature. Ready to open windows, clear out stale air, allow fresh air in, spring clean, clear out and create space.

What fresh starts and new beginning do you want? Write it down, visualize it, imagine it coming to fruition and take action steps every day that bring you closer to what you want.

What old and "stale" thoughts, habits, beliefs and feelings are you ready to release, clear out and replace with those that bring more peace, hope, joy, life and energy?

Consider all aspects of your life: emotional, physical, spiritual, relational, career.

Here's a quote I found that might give you a starting place: "An optimist is the human personification of spring." - Susan J. Bissonette - I think I'll start there too. Join me in cultivating and nurturing optimism this spring!
